“Octopus,” from 1964, is another work by Alexander Calder on display in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. It’s even displayed right next to the other Calder, “The Spinner”.

Alexander Calder is perhaps best known for creating these incredible and whimsical mobile sculptures. “The Spinner,” created in 1966, is a fine example of a free-standing mobile. It moves and spins (duh) in the wind creating new forms and negative space.
