Nearly 10 years after “Demolition,” Peter Busa returned to Valspar Corporation to paint “Sport” in 1982. This second mural is on the back of Valspar’s research and development lab. It was painted while the Metrodome was under construction across the tracks.

The Valspar Corporation in Minneapolis is one of the leading manufacturers of paint, so it seems only fitting that their headquarters is a lively abstract expressionist mural by Peter Busa. Painted in 1973, the stripes of the mural are visible from the nearby freeways and make for an iconic landmark.
