This bronze sculpture by William Ordway Partridge depicts the Revolutionary War hero Nathan Hale. For those not down with their colonial history, Hale was considered the nation’s first spy. But not a very good one as he was caught and hung by the British. Before he was executed he said, “I only regret having one life to lose for my country,” which is inscribed on the sculpture’s base.
