This sculpture adds a touch of whimsy and imagination to a big box parking lot. Created by Gary Price, the piece features a tiny boy at the base of the sculpture that you might miss while driving by. The easy-to-miss boy is reading a book and imagining the sculpture into existence.

Four untitled assemblies of stainless steel wedges by Charles Biederman sit outside Coffman Memorial Union at the University of Minnesota. Installed outside the south entrance near the Weisman Art Museum, these wedges are embedded in a simulated natural setting during the spring and summer while providing a stark contrast in the fall and winter against a blanket of white snow.

This assemblage of bronze sculptures by artist Ian Dudley sits within the natural foliage outside the James Ford Bell Museum of Natural History at the University of Minnesota. Attempting to recreate the confrontation between a large moose and a pack of several wolves, visitors to the museum find themselves in the middle of this standoff just prior to entering the museum. The complete name of this work is Wolves and Moose (Canis lupis, Alces alces), Predator and Prey, often shortened by faculty and students to Wolves and Moose.

This bronze sculpture by Theo Ruggles-Kitson commemorates the lives of the student soldiers that fought in the Spanish-American War from 1898-1899 from the University of Minnesota. The young soldier, facing west poised for battle, sits outside the Armory Building, just off University Avenue on the north end of campus.

This large, interpretive molecule was created by Amy Toscani and installed in 2008 at the entrance to the Molecular and Cellular Biology building at the University of Minnesota. This large molecule is 32″ tall and close to five tons worth of colored, welded shapes. While the piece is designed is to resemble the component particles of a molecular form, it does not represent any specific molecule. To date this piece is untitled by the artist.

The “Eastside Guardian” Community Project is a way to publicly acknowledge the outstanding job that our community’s police officers do every day, in the neighborhoods where we live and work. This bronze sculpture was created by Neil Brodin, a former Minneapolis police officer, in 2007.

The three-piece installation sits outside the Second Precinct Police Station in Northeast Minneapolis along Central Avenue. The officer wearing the turn of the century police uniform is modeled after an ancestor of Hennepin County Commissioner Mark Stenglein.
