International Academy LEAP Student Self-Portrait led by Jill Michell
This massive mural hangs from the Ordway in downtown St. Paul and features self-portraits from students at the International Academy LEAP. The project was led by art specialist Jill Michell.
I find this work captivating, in part because it’s so massive, but also because it’s simple and diverse. It’s an incredible mix of faces and cultures and races, presented with a child-like simplicity and lack of pretentiousness.
As with the other murals hanging on the Ordway, this doesn’t seem like a permanent display, so enjoy it while you can.
