The Chapel Site Sculpture by Cliff Garten reflects the founding of the settlement that would eventually become St. Paul. Located in the Kellogg Mall Park (originally built in 1931), this 1991 sculpture includes a fountain, pergola, four bronze sculptures and six terra cotta relief plaques designed by George Mason with text by Karen Sproles:

We entered a strange wilderness … we camped among Indian nations … we labored with the earth … we bridged great distances … now we remember the wilderness.”
