Dan Patch by Dennis Roghair
Sculptor Dennis Roghair carved this likeness of the famous racehorse Dan Patch in 1996. Dan Patch Avenue at the fairgrounds is named for the horse, an animal known as the most famous horse in America in the early 20th century and set a speed record for the mile that held for 32 years. The chainsaw-carved sculpture stands outside the Minnesota State Fair grandstand.
