Monument to the Living by Rodger Brodin
Vietnam veteran and artist Rodger Brodin created this 12-foot tall sculpture from hammered and welded steel. It depicts a saddened soldier with his arms outstretched asking, “Why do you forget us?” (inscribed on a plaque at the foot of the sculpture). It was added to the Minnesota State Capitol Mall in 1982 and was the first addition in over 20 years.
