Pompeii by Anthony Caponi
This 150- by 3-foot sculpture created from 1984-1988 by Anthony Caponi, located in Caponi Art Park, depicts the victims of the Mount Vesuvius eruption in 70 A.D. It captures the Pompeii victims at their death.
The location of this sculpture in the side of the hill is probably what makes it most interesting, giving it more of a feeling of an archaeological excavation than a work of art.
