St. Francis of Assisi by Donald Shephard
This sculpture of St. Francis of Assisi is located in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory at Como Park in St. Paul. It was created by Donald Shepard.
The piece was originally located outside the Conservatory, but after vandalism in 1957 it was moved indoors to the Conservatory’s North Garden.
St. Francis is a perfect match for the quiet and peaceful setting of the conservatory. All that’s missing are a few birds perched on his shoulders.
