The Lowertown Children’s Park at the corner of Sibley and 4th Streets in downtown St. Paul sports a sculpture of a waterfall coming out of a window and a giant pencil and paintbrush marking up the wall. It makes for a pretty cool backdrop for a playground that features a steamboat and a train.

This unknown mural is presumably another Arts Work project (considering the large props they get) and seems to have had lots of sponsorship help (check out all the sponsors on the outside edge). But I still can’t find out anything about the mural.

This one cracks me up. “Frame” by Shaun Cassidy in the Western Sculpture Park in St. Paul is such a goofy bit of art about art. On one hand it’s just asking for the ‘you call that art?!’ response, on the other hand it’s a rather clever and playful poke at art — and if you want to be entirely too serious the stark white, empty frame says something damning about modern art (or modern life or society or whatever you feel like denigrating).
